'The optimal cancer treatment is one that kills cancer cells while leaving normal cells unharmed. Dr Seyfried's article, "Cancer as a Metabolic Disease," points the way to this goal.(1) Dr. Seyfried says: "cancer is primarily a metabolic disease involving disturbances in energy production through respiration and fermentation."(1)

Electron microscope studies have shown abnormalities in the mitochondria of cancer cells.(2) The cancer cell's mitochondria have undergone "metabolic reprogramming," thereby providing a key which can be exploited to devise a more selective cancer treatment.(3,4).'
