We've Been Hacked!

Dear Health Maven Subscribers and Friends, (August 12th 2014)

Google unexpectedly locked our blog, because they 'found' a post from 2011 that had been hacked via malware inserted into the post graphic. Yet, we can't help but wonder if Google really shut us down because we were so controversial and TPTB were not happy with the information we were sharing. We have deleted the offending post, however it can take Google up to two weeks or more to re-review our blog or maybe never.

Study: Ultra-Low Doses Of THC May Help Protect Against Neurodegenerative Diseases

'There is a great deal of evidence suggesting that cannabis could be beneficial for the prevention and treatment of neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s. In fact, a Brazilian study published last year suggests that cannabidiol (CBD) could help ward off neuronal cell death in the face of neurodegradation.

In order to provide more insight on the topic of medical marijuana and neurodegenerative disease, a team of researchers from Tel-Aviv University in Israel published a study in the Journal of Neuroscience Research last month. Their results suggest that ultra-low doses of cannabinoids, and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) in particular, can help protect against cognitive deficits that arise as a result of inflammation in the brain.'

Debbie Wilson Regains Self Thru Use of Cannabis

'Before her accident, Debbie was a felony probation and parole officer in Florida, on her way to graduating law school. On July 2nd, 1989, Debbie was hit by a pick-up truck after going out for lunch. The injury she sustained began a heartbreaking journey that would last two decades.

From the moment Debbie left the hospital after the accident, symptoms of the traumatic brain injury were apparent, including a distorted sense of time. Migraines, forgetfulness, nightmares, paranoia, anxiety, and loss of balance were severe initial effects.

On December 15th, 1991, Debbie was diagnosed with epilepsy stemming from the trauma, which caused several types of seizures. In addition to several grand mal seizures a week, Debbie experienced daily partial cluster seizures. These seizures were resistant to all pharmaceuticals, and because of the nature of the epilepsy, surgery was not possible. In 1996, a fall stemming from loss of balance caused further brain damage and worsened the seizures.'

Prescription drugs: Top cause of accidental death in U.S.

'The phrase “prescription drug abuse” allows Big Pharma to get away with too much, shifting the blame to stoners, druggies and youths who like to get their kicks from illegal prescriptions and black market OxyContin-type drugs that sell for high prices.

Death by Modern Medicine: Seeking Safe Solutions, written by Dr. Carolyn Dean, outlines the statistics and issues within several other categories of prescription drugs that have caused deaths despite being properly prescribed and used.

Dr. Dean has uncovered even more statistics of iatrogenic (medically caused) death than her original paper Death by Medicine. The death toll has gone up to almost 900,000 annually from various areas that include hospital stays, surgeries, incorrect or unnecessary procedures, and prescriptions.'

Probiotics May Help Control Your Blood Pressure

'If you’re among the one in three American adults who have hypertension (high blood pressure), one of the first pieces of advice your physician likely gave you was to reduce the amount of sodium in your diet.

While it's certainly beneficial to cut out processed salt—the type found in processed foods and regular table salt—limiting sodium is not the hypertension cure that many think it is.

There are actually many other strategies that are equally, and oftentimes more, important for maintaining healthy blood pressure levels, and a new study highlighted one of them: balancing your gut flora.

If your gut flora is unhealthy, your risk is much greater for heart disease, as well as many other chronic health problems, so it makes sense that the new research found probiotics, also known as beneficial bacteria, may improve blood pressure control.'

How Psychedelics Are Saving Lives (Video)

'This video, produced by http://www.videoigniter.com and http://www.reset.me, highlights how psychedelic medicines are saving lives worldwide. Numerous studies show these substances are non-neurotoxic, non-addictive and are having profound effects curing some of the most stubborn mental health disorders by helping people purge bottled up trauma.

MDMA is curing debilitating PTSD in veterans. Psilocybin, the psychedelic compound in magic mushrooms, is alleviating anxiety and depression. LSD was used successfully for decades to combat alcohol addictions and anxiety. Ayahuasca is helping people purge traumatic memories while increasing serotonin levels in the brain. Psychedelics are some of the most profound medicines known to man. To learn more about these natural therapies, please visit reset.me.'

Beans and Rice provide easy long storage, low costs, and high nutrition

'Failing economies and rising food prices are getting a bit scary. Then there is the talk of food shortages looming, which is scarier. It is time to discuss beans and rice again for inexpensive, tasty, filling, and nutritious food staples, which can also be easily stored for extended periods.

Buy Bulk

Avoid packaged rice and canned beans. The least expensive and most nutritious way to buy and store rice and beans is to buy organic from the bulk bins.'

How Psychedelics Saved My Life

'I invite you to take a step back and clear your mind of decades of false propaganda.  Governments worldwide lied to us about the medicinal benefits of marijuana. The public has also been misled about psychedelics.

These non-addictive substances- MDMA, ayahuasca, ibogaine, psilocybin mushrooms, peyote, and many more- are proven to rapidly and effectively help people heal from trauma, PTSD, anxiety, addiction and depression.

Psychedelics saved my life.'

Dr. Mercola Discusses a Simple Oral Health Technique

'Coconuts are among the most nutritionally dense foods on the planet and have been a dietary staple for millennia. Western science is now "playing catch-up" to what natives of tropical regions have known for thousands of years. One of the reasons coconut is so special is that it's a natural antimicrobial food.

Coconut, especially its oil, is a powerful destroyer of all kinds of microbes, from viruses to bacteria to protozoa, many of which harm human health.

Researchers at the Athlone Institute of Technology's Bioscience Research Institute in Ireland set out to test coconut oil's biocidal properties against the bacteria responsible for tooth decay.

Dental caries is a commonly overlooked problem affecting 60 to 90 percent of children and the majority of adults in industrialized countries, according to chief researcher Dr. Damien Brady. His research team tested the antibacterial action of coconut oil in its natural state and coconut oil that had been treated with enzymes, in a process similar to digestion.'

You have been lied to about germs

'We have been taught to fear germs, pathogens, viruses, and bacteria that invade us from out there. This is the Pasteur model of disease contagion. This creates a dependency on Big Pharma to protect us from invading microbes, each having one form (monomorphic) and creating one specific disease.

Pasteur`s model of disease won over rival Claude Bernard`s more accurate argument of the inner terrain. Pasteur`s declaration, though serving the coffers of Big Pharma, creates more questions: How come some get a disease that`s going around and others don`t? How do all these new bugs come out of nowhere to haunt us? Why do vaccines and antibiotics ultimately fail and create super bugs?'

Sleep: Why You Need It and How To Get It

'To sleep, perchance to dream. Many of us have a love hate relationship with sleep – making the time for it, honoring it, needing it, losing it, wanting it, partaking too much. A highly ritualized behavior, sleep also exemplifies the complexity of physiologic processes that feel beyond our control.

Sleep onset involves a transition from sympathetic to parasympathetic nervous system dominance, a shift that is impossible to will with our cognitive minds, as 25% of Americans struggling with insomnia could tell you.

The emergency calls I get from patients, these days, tend to be from those suffering from psychotropic-withdrawal-induced insomnia. Otherwise balanced, rational women are rendered near-psychotic by the trauma of insomnia and disrupted sleep architecture. Their bodies and minds have "forgotten" how to do it. It turns out that one of the many poorly elucidated lasting effects of antidepressants is their interference with normal sleep architecture.'
