'The current contentious GMO debate focuses on the health impacts of foods that have been genetically engineered on purpose for taste/texture, resistance to pests/disease, and other qualities.

It appears, however, that the food supply may already be contaminated by accident with genetically modified microorganisms designed for other purposes.

And these "inadvertent" GMOs are associated with a host of metabolic diseases that directly tie to widespread health woes, including obesity, type 2 diabetes, and inflammatory gut and immune/autoimmune problems.'

A Hygiene Practice Most People Ignore - Sleep Expert Warns Failing To Change Your Pillow Every 6 Months Can Cause Acne and Allergies

'A good pillow is just as important as a good bed for getting a good night’s sleep. You may have a favorite pillow that seems to help you sleep better. But it could cause acne and trigger allergies if it is more than six months old, one expert claims.

Dr Robert Oexman, director of the Sleep to Live Institute in Mebane, North Carolina, told The Huffington Post that people sleeping on old pillows might be pressing their faces against dirt, oil and dead skin cells, which can cause acne.

The research centre works with engineers and scientists to develop better products and improve the quality of sleep for people by helping them pick the right mattresses and pillows.

Dust mites also set up home in pillows and can exacerbate asthma and trigger allergic reactions, according to Dr Mark Neustrom, an allergist & immunologist at Kansas City Allergy and Asthma Associates.

The American Lung Associations tells us "Dust mites are not parasites; they don't bite, sting or burrow into our bodies.'

Eating Local and Organic on Food Stamps

'My friend Irene, a hardworking single mother who also cuts my hair, is an absolute inspiration to me and I’m sure many others fortunate enough to cross her path.

Moms like Irene silence all the naysayers like Dr. Oz who claim that it isn’t possible to eat healthy on a very tight budget or that those who eat organic are elitist.

You see, Irene is on food stamps.

Irene’s situation is not at all rare anymore.  The number of Americans on food stamps, or the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) as it is now called, has increased by 260% since 2000.  In a more sobering statistic, the actual number of people relying on food stamps to eat has increased from 17.1 million in 2000 to over 44 million in 2011.

Despite Irene’s challenging budget which includes food stamps, she manages to buy nearly everything local and/or organic to prepare the healthy, homemade meals she prepares.'

Sleepless in the USA: New study finds tart cherry juice significantly increases sleep time

'According to the CDC insufficient sleep is a public health epidemic. The CDC warns that people who are struggling with sleep deficiencies are at risk for serious, debilitating, chronic diseases and even death from: "hypertension, diabetes, depression, and obesity, as well as cancer, increased mortality, and reduced quality of life and productivity."

The CDC estimates that approximately 50 to 70 million US adults suffer from some form of sleep or "wakefulness disorder".'

Rediscover a natural, inexpensive cancer treatment agent mostly forgotten or ignored

'You may remember the stir that DMSO created in the 1970s when it emerged as a miraculous healing agent and adjuvant for treating many health issues. Some MDs were using it on cancer patients successfully. Then, DMSO mostly faded out of the natural healing picture.

Recently, the Camelot Cancer Care clinic in Tulsa, Oklahoma, featured DMSO as a major part of their protocol, but it was shut down in 2013 by the FDA and FBI after producing a very high healing rate among cancer patients.'

Why Organic Eggs from the Store are a Scam

'I had to break down and buy a dozen organic eggs from the store recently when our chickens weren't laying enough due to summer heat. I was greatly disappointed to say the least. Organic eggs just don't stack up and here's why ... best to find eggs from a neighbor or a local farm if you want true quality and nutrition from the humble egg, nature's perfect food.'

The Power of Your Mind

By Dr. Mercola

'Asthma has been on the rise for decades and now impacts nearly 20 million Americans, or 8 percent of the population.1 If you have asthma, the airways in your lungs may narrow and swell, triggering coughing fits and wheezing and making breathing difficult.

Asthma may produce symptoms ranging from minor to life threatening in severity, and asthma attacks may be brought on by many triggers, including exercise, allergens (such as pet danger or pollen), or environmental pollutants (such as smoke, chemicals, or dust).

An intriguing new study suggests, however, that your expectation of an asthma trigger may influence how it impacts your airways, at least as far as certain odors are concerned.'

Plant Omega-3s Reduce Heart Attacks More than Fish Oil

'Two large research reviews by medical scientists have determined that omega-3 fatty acids from plants reduce the incidence of heart disease and heart attacks while fish oil has only a slight ("insignificant") effect.

The most recent study focusing on the omega-3 fatty acid alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) comes from researchers at Harvard Medical School along with several other prestigious universities. The researchers analyzed 27 clinical trials that studied 251,049 human subjects. The studies included over 15,000 heart attacks and other cardiovascular events.'

Antidepressant Microbes In Soil: How Dirt Makes You Happy

'Prozac may not be the only way to get rid of your serious blues. Soil microbes have been found to have similar effects on the brain and are without side effects and chemical dependency potentials. Learn how to harness the natural antidepressant in soil and make yourself happier and healthier. Read on to see how dirt makes you happy.

Natural remedies have been around for untold centuries. These natural remedies included cures for almost any physical ailment as well as mental and emotional afflictions.

Ancient healers may not have known why something worked but simply that it did. Modern scientists have unraveled the why of many medicinal plants and practices but only recently are they finding remedies that were previously unknown and, yet, still a part of the natural life cycle. Soil microbes and human health now have a positive link which has been studied and found to be verifiable.'

The Worldwide Destruction of the Family Farm. Wall Street’s Unprecedented Land Grab

‘A recent review carried out by the organization GRAIN revealed that small farms produce most of the world’s food and are more productively efficient than large farms [1].

Facilitated by an appropriate policy framework, small farmers could easily feed the global population. However, small farmers are currently squeezed onto less than a quarter of the world’s farmland.

The world is fast losing farms and farmers through the concentration of land into the hands of the rich and powerful. The report concluded that if nothing is done to reverse this trend, the world will lose its capacity to feed itself.’

Neuroscience Shows How Meditation Can Vanquish Mental Disorders

‘Can mindfulness practice (meditation) help vanquish mental disorders? According to the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), 7.7 million Americans suffer from schizophrenia and bipolar disorder – approximately 3.3% of the US population when combined.

Of these, approximately 40% of the individuals with schizophrenia and 51% of those with bipolar are untreated in any given year, but with the new studies being presented by Juan Santoyo and his peers, there could be strong scientific proof that meditation could help even the most debilitating psychological disorders.’

Ebola: The US diagnostic test is utterly unreliable

'When researchers and doctors are talking about a germ-caused disease, everything depends on the accuracy of the diagnosis. That’s where it all starts.

So here is a blockbuster.

The US diagnostic test for Ebola is utterly unreliable.

Using the test to claim a patient has Ebola or doesn’t have Ebola is scientific fraud.

Therefore, any pronouncements made by the Centers for Disease Control, where all the US testing is done, are worthless.'

Magnesium Rich Foods Offer 5 Critical Health Benefits

'Magnesium is an essential mineral for staying healthy and is required for more than 300 biochemical reactions in the body. Multiple health benefits of magnesium include transmission of nerve impulses, body temperature regulation, detoxification, energy production, and the formation of healthy bones and teeth.

Findings published in the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition indicated that for every 50 mg per day increase in intake of the mineral, the risk of cancer was modestly reduced by 7%.

A notable study of more than 4,600 Americans, begun in 1985, found the risk of developing metabolic syndrome over the next 15 years was 31 percent lower for those with the highest intake of magnesium.'

Isn't the U.S. Pot Thing Frustrating? Great Success, Popular Support and Ugly Backlash

'In the robust efforts to legalize and decriminalize cannabis in the U.S., a slightly modified line from Charles Dickens' A Tale of Two Cities applies: "These are the best of times, these are the worst of times."
Despite huge success on many fronts, including legalization in two states with boffo success in Colorado (and two more states likely on the way), pot arrests remain astronomically high across the country. More than 750,000 were recorded in 2012, with pot arrests actually increasing in some states and the District of Columbia.

The blue state of New York led the way with 125,000 arrests out of more than a million estimated users, or roughly 6% (the second highest percentage of pot smoker arrests next to Louisiana.)'

Cannabis Continues to Eradicate Disease Despite Efforts to Suppress It

Big Pharma would suffer a severe financial blow if something natural was allowed to be used for a wide array of health problems. The medical mafia would lose a grip on its treatment tyranny, and all the auxiliary wings of the cancer industry would lose their businesses raising money for “cancer cures” from Big Pharma, even as many already do exist outside the Medical Mafia matrix. This is especially true when it comes to the highly vilified plant – cannabis.

But this whole episode of hemp and marijuana suppression shouldn’t have happened in the first place. It appears the roots of oppression were in early 20th Century America, when John D. Rockefeller established allopathic medical education and certification for the benefit of his burgeoning pharmaceutical and oil empires.

Rockefeller’s oil and pharmaceutical influence was (and is) worldwide. The Rockefeller clan merged with the largest international pharmaceutical company, the German company I.G. Farben, to increase pharmaceutical influence internationally. Things got even worse in 1930s USA when even industrial non-THC hemp was banned in the States.

Covert chemical warfare: 100,000 deaths a year

‘Medical News Today reports that, in 2011, there was a modest uptick in the number of prescriptions written in the US.

The increase brought the total to: 4.02 billion.

Yes, in 2011, doctors wrote 4.02 billion prescriptions for drugs in America. That’s an average of roughly 13 prescriptions for each man, woman, and child. That’s about one new prescription every month for every American.

The Medical News Today article concluded, “…the industry should be heartened by the growth of the number of prescriptions and spending.” Yes, I’m sure the drug industry is popping champagne corks.’

Why Does The U.S. Government Have An ‘Office Of Population Affairs’?

‘Did you know that the federal government has an “Office of Population Affairs”? I didn’t realize this either until someone sent me a link to their website. The Office of Population Affairs operates under the umbrella of the Department of Health & Human Services, and it might as well be called “The Office of Population Control” because almost everything on the website is about controlling or reducing the size of the population.

On the site you can find information and resources about abortion, female sterilization, male sterilization and a vast array of contraceptive choices. There is even a search engine where you can find a local “family planning clinic” where you can get rid of any “unintended pregnancy” that may be bothering you. Frankly, it sickens me to think that my tax dollars are being used to fund all of this.’

Take Those Shoes Off!

'When's the last time you kicked off your shoes and reveled in the feeling of the Earth under your feet? Been awhile?

It may sound hard to believe, but engaging in this simple pleasure could give your health a much-needed boost.

Walking barefoot outside, with the soles of your feet free to mesh with the surface of the Earth – is an activity known as Earthing, or grounding.

You are an Electrical Being, and the Earth's Surface is Electrically Conductive

You are an electrical being - your body regularly produces positive charges, which can oxidize and harm you if excessive.

The Earth's surface is electrically conductive; it maintains a negative charge with its free electron supply continually replenished by the global atmospheric electrical circuit.'

EWG’s Dirty Dozen and Clean Fifteen for 2014

'Do you think you have the right to know how many pesticides and chemicals are in the fruits and vegetables you eat? So does the Environmental Working Group (EWG), a non-profit organization devoted to human and environmental health.

Each year EWG publishes a listing of the produce with the highest levels of pesticides, the ones that should be avoided unless they are available from known local growers, grown at home, or labeled as organic. They also identify which conventionally grown produce has low levels of pesticide and can be bought without worry. The new lists for 2014 have just come out, and there are plenty of surprises.

EWG is doing what the Environmental Protection Agency has failed to do'

Fifty Percent of Americans Suffer from Silent Killer

'ONE OF EVERY TWO of you have a deadly disease that’s making you fat sick and will kill you and 90 percent of you don’t even know you have it.

What’s worse is your doctor’s not trained how to find it and they are not even looking for it.

This problem will cost us $3.5 trillion over the next 10 years. It is bankrupting our economy. In 30 years 100 percent of our federal budget will be needed to pay for Medicare and Medicaid leaving nothing for education, defense, agriculture, roads, or even social security.

So what am I talking about?'

Ebola: covert op in a hypnotized world

'You show people a germ and you tell them what it is and what it does, and people salute. They give in. They believe. They actually know nothing. But they believe.

The massive campaign to make people believe the Ebola virus can attack at any moment, after the slightest contact, is quite a success.

People are falling all over themselves to raise the level of hysteria.
This is what is preventing a hard look at Liberia, Sierra Leone, and the Republic Guinea, three African nations where poverty and illness are staples of everyday life for the overwhelming number of people.'

Vegetables that stop cancer

'Scientists have discovered that broccoli and Brussels sprouts are vegetables that stop cancer. Eating these vegetables encourages the body to produce a substance known as indole 3 carbinol (I3C) that fights cancer and blocks cancer cells from proliferating.

In the study recently published in Cancer Prevention Research, researchers at the Ohio State University found compelling evidence indicating that I3C could stop cancer and other health benefits. The study focused on breast cancer cells, but it is likely that it can fight other cancers too, and it may even reverse Alzheimer’s disease.'

Grounding Is a Key Mechanism by Which Your Body Maintains Health

'Have you ever noticed how good it feels to walk barefoot on a sandy beach, or in a forest? There is a reason for that—it’s called the grounding effect. The reason for this sense of well-being is due to the fact that you’re receiving a surge of potent healing electrons from the ground.

The earth has a slightly negative charge, so when you stand barefoot on that sand, electrons from the earth flow into your body, giving you a virtual “transfusion” of healing power.

The featured documentary, The Grounded 2, is a sequel to the film The Grounded, released in 2013. The sequel features Step Sinatra, the son of cardiologist Stephen Sinatra MD, astronaut Dr. Edgar Mitchell, and yours truly, among many others.'
