With 200,000 - 400,000 deaths per annum Medical Errors are now the 3rd leading cause of death right behind Heart disease with 597,689 deaths per annum and Cancer with 574,743 deaths per annum.

But the CDC does not even mention Medical Errors in their report on the leading causes of death.'

What you've mentioned into the article is true, but the differences between the plain crash and a medical error are the numbers!
Medical errors kill the people one by one, they can't make a headline for each surgery error, not in case each one is a star...other are the facts when 10, 100 or 329 (MH370 flight) people die..
