Participants performed significantly better immediately after the yoga practice than after moderate to vigorous aerobic exercise for the same amount of time.'

10-layer roasted vegetable salad [Vegetarian]

roasted vegetable salad photo

'Every single bite of this salad is a new and wonderful flavor combination, depending on what lands on your fork. The delightful mix of roasted vegetables, beans, crispy lettuce, crunchy toasted almonds, smooth avocado and tangy feta cheese -- all combined with a dressing of garlic, honey and spices -- is an incredibly tasty and healthy feast.

There are a few steps to making this salad, but it comes together quickly. Speed it up by making the dressing while the vegetables are roasting. Layer the ingredients in a large bowl, and toss just before serving to keep it looking fresh and beautifully colorful. During summer, you can put the vegetables on the grill instead of roasting them, adding a wonderfully smoky flavor.'

A Secret Cause of Cancer

http://healthylife.com-latest-info.us/wp-content/uploads/heart.jpg

'One of the great challenges in medicine is to understand the complexity of causes that lead to cancer. There is a great secret to life, health and disease, one that is little known, understood or talked about except in vague ways.

This secret explains largely why one person gets sick and another does not under the influence of the same causes. Our bodies have a core, a central point, just like the solar system does. Without the sun at the heart of our system, the planets would just fly off because without a coherent center systems just don’t work.

The heart is a vast electromagnetic generator and the
frequencies that are radiated out by the heart change
dramatically depending on what emotional state a person is in.'

3 Staple Foods that Big Ag Has Stripped of All Nutrients

'Thanks to the “super food” debate that has raged over the past several years, we’ve been led to believe that these and other types of grains, fruits, and veggies are the key to living a long and healthy life.

From classrooms to media campaigns, we’ve been told that if we eat the proper portions of fruits, grains, and veggies each and every day, we’ll be on the road to a life of optimum health.

But, since the dawn of the agricultural revolution, and particularly over the last 100 years, we’ve been changing the nature of the food that we produce and consume, and as result, removing the vital nutrients from our diets that were once staples of our ancestor’s diets.'

'A strong relationship exists between workplace daylight exposure and workers’ sleep, activity and quality of life. Windows and natural lighting can make a big the difference in your health.

Compared to workers in offices without windows, those with windows in the workplace received 173 percent more white light exposure during work hours and slept an average of 46 minutes more per night. There also was a trend for workers in offices with windows to have more physical activity than those without windows.

Workers without windows reported poorer scores than their counterparts on quality of life measures related to physical problems and vitality, as well as poorer outcomes on measures of overall sleep quality, sleep efficiency, sleep disturbances and daytime dysfunction.'

Heirloom vs Organic Hybrid Produce

'Most folks don’t realize that the organic produce at WalMart, Whole Foods, or even the local healthfood store is almost exclusively hybrid vegetables. Once in awhile you will see some heirloom veggies at the healthfood store, but this is the exception rather than the rule.

Now, I have nothing against organic produce from hybrid seeds. Hybrid is not to be confused with GMO, by the way.

If you’re going to pay the premium for organic, however, you might as well go for the best tasting produce. This will almost always be the heirloom varieties and not the modern hybrids at the store.'

In traditional Chinese medicine, it’s known as the “harmony herb” because it supports balance and synergy. This designation has lead to its inclusion as an overall support agent within many herbal remedy formulas.'

50 Vegetarian Grilling Recipes

50 Vegetarian Grilling Recipes

'I’m pretty sure ours is the only house in our neighborhood that doesn’t have a behemoth of a gas grill in the backyard. (The people behind us even have two gas grills!) I’m not sure if this is because we’re vegetarian or because grilling sometimes seems like too much work and we’re lazy. We do, however, have a little charcoal grill that we fire up on occasion during the summer months.

When meat eaters cook for vegetarians, frozen veggie burger patties are usually their go-to option. And don’t get me wrong, I enjoy them! But if we’re grilling for ourselves, it hardly seems worth all that effort for two little veggie burgers. When I grill, I want to grill something that’s worth it! Well, here are 50 vegetarian grilling recipes that are totally worth it.'

The Sun Is Heating Up And It's Time To Ignore Every Single Message You Hear About Slathering On Sunscreen

'The idea that sunscreen prevents cancer is a falsity promoted by a profit-seeking tag-team effort between the cancer industry and the sunscreen industry. How convenient an oversight by these demonizers of the sun that people closest to the equator have the lowest incidence of skin cancer, but you'll never hear that message on your local news.

Instead, as the summer approaches the media bombards us daily with myths that blocking the sun's rays from reaching our skin will somehow protect us from the one thing it actually prevents--cancer.'

Informed choices are not something these people offer and that is obvious in your case. And you forgot to mention Angelina, the added dangers of infection, disruption in lymph flow, and dangers of reconstructive implants not to mention the heavy psychological impact on a woman to give up her breasts, the life-giving essence of her being.'

Made from sweetened tea that’s been fermented by a symbiotic colony of bacteria and yeast (a SCOBY, a.k.a. “mother” because of its ability to reproduce, or “mushroom” because of its appearance), Kombucha didn’t gain prominence in the West until recently.'

Extremely Low Doses of Marijuana's Psychoactive Components Prevent Brain Damage From Other Toxic Drugs

 http://photo.auditory.ru/d/130692-2/cannabis_6.jpg

'In another blow and contradiction to mainstream scientific claims which consistently report that Cannabis causes brain damage, a recent study shows the opposite.

Research published in the journals Behavioural Brain Research and Experimental Brain Research demonstrated that even extremely low doses of THC (Marijuana's psychoactive component) -- around 1,000 to 10,000 times less than that in a conventional marijuana cigarette -- can jumpstart biochemical processes which protect brain cells and preserve cognitive function.'

'Did you know the average person spends more time per day sitting than they do sleeping? That a slew of recent studies show a strong correlation between sitting and weight gain, sitting and overall mortality, sitting and heart disease, and sitting and loss of bone density?

As a writer, my work keeps me sitting in front a computer for hours a day. I sit while I research and write blog posts. I sit while I write books. I sit while I teach online courses and provide customer support. I sit while I promote my work on Facebook. And then, when I’m all done working for the day, I sit while I watch TV and movies, sit while I surf the net, and sit while I read books.'

Anna Lappé & Food MythBusters -- Do we really need industrial agriculture to feed the world?

Study: Saturated Fat Not Associated with Risk of Coronary Artery Disease, Coconut Oil and Dairy Fat Healthy

'The lipid theory of heart disease, linking saturated fat to coronary heart disease, continues to crumble. Of course there never was any real solid science linking traditional saturated fats and cholesterol to heart disease, but that didn’t stop the pharmaceutical companies from making billions of dollars from the sale of cholesterol-lowering drugs. Before the patent expired, Lipitor was the best selling drug of all time, nearly equaling the sales of all other drugs combined.

The biggest study to date examining the scientific literature on saturated fats was the meta analysis published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition in 2010: Meta-analysis of prospective cohort studies evaluating the association of saturated fat with cardiovascular disease. This analysis looked at 347,747 patients from clinical studies during a 23 year period and found that there was no link between saturated fat and heart disease.'

What Most Doctors Don't Discuss About Clogged Arteries

 http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_vLSXEwir7V8/TQZFiQh4lXI/AAAAAAAAFhU/kM2Tt0mcdvM/s1600/dim.gif

'To most people, clogged arteries mean increased risk of experiencing a heart attack or stroke. Often, getting diagnosed with partially occluded arteries leads to a prescription for cholesterol-lowering medication or invasive procedures like an angioplasty or bypass surgery.

Before you find yourself being asked to choose one of these conventional medical approaches to addressing clogged arteries, I encourage you to be fully aware of the actual make-up of plaque that can occlude your arteries, the way in which such plaque develops, the different levels of risk that accompany varying degrees of blockage, and most importantly, what you can do to reduce your risk of experiencing health challenges that can be caused by occluded arteries.'

'About 42 million sleeping pill prescriptions were filled in 2005, according to the research company IMS Health, up nearly 60 percent since 2000. According to the National Sleep Foundation (NSF), almost six out of ten Americans report having insomnia at least a few nights weekly. Insomnia is defined as an “inability to fall asleep or remain asleep long enough to feel rested, especially when the problem continues over time.”[1]

In September of 2010 the New York Times reported that, “People with chronic pain who took just a puff of marijuana three times a day got some mild pain relief and, with rare exceptions, did so without getting high, a Canadian study reports. (Yes, they inhaled.) The patients, who suffered from persistent nerve damage that did not respond to other pain drugs, also reported better sleep and less anxiety, the researchers said.”'

Learn How to Make Cultured Veggies at Home to Boost Your Immune System

By Dr. Mercola

'Your digestive tract is probably the most underappreciated system of your body, often ignored until its screams of discontent become loud enough to grab your attention.

By the time your gut reaches this degree of disgruntlement, the problems have usually been developing for months — or years — and are challenging to resolve.

Instead of waiting for obvious signs of a problem, why not perform some regular “gut maintenance” that will lessen your chances of developing a problem in the first place?

Your gut is much more than a food processing tube — it houses about 85 percent of your immune system. This is in large part due to the 100 trillion bacteria that live there, both good and bad that can stimulate secretory IgA to nourish your immune response.'
