Increasing Solar Activity And Disturbances In Earth’s Magnetic Field Affect Our Behavior And Increase Our Health

'Climaxing yesterday, the sun will have unleashed three X-class solar flares. These are the strongest flares of the year so far, and they signal a significant increase in solar activity with more to come. Historically, research has been conducted to link the 11 year cycle of the sun to changes in human behavior and society. Research done in the last hundred years that shows the most malefic effects from solar activity come at the sunspot minima.'

Dangers of Wi-Fi & the iPad

'I got quite a few letters in response to my endorsement and use of Apples iPad so I want to address the issues of danger that come from living in our modern world. A few people were actually shocked that I would give my kids an iPad. (What you are about to read is a record of my internal process over the last three days. It’s almost a book so watch out.)

On my side I am shocked to be in civilization at all and would have been happy to spend the rest of my life at the end of the world at my Sanctuary. But cell signals and Wi-Fi were even there in the most pristine place you can imagine—with turtle-speed internet access. The world is certainly saturated with microwaves, of that there is no doubt. Here in Brazil one cannot enter a restaurant or hotel without a TV and Wi-Fi waves being present.'

Strength Training and Yoga—Two Valuable Exercise Components for Aging Americans

By Dr. Mercola

'Exercise is a critical part of a healthy lifestyle, and it can be a part of your life no matter what your age. In fact, staying active becomes increasingly important as you get older, both for your physical and mental health.

Even frail seniors of advanced age can improve strength, agility, and even cognitive ability with exercise.

Loss of bone mass is one of the common signs of aging, because as you age your existing bone is absorbed by your body while new bone is created to replace it.

In the case of osteoporosis, the formation of new bone falls behind the rate of bone absorption, leading to weakened, thinner and more brittle bones.'

EXPOSED: Angelina Jolie part of a clever corporate scheme to protect billions in BRCA gene patents, influence Supreme Court decision (opinion)

'Angelina Jolie's announcement of undergoing a double mastectomy (surgically removing both breasts) even though she had no breast cancer is not the innocent, spontaneous, "heroic choice" that has been portrayed in the mainstream media. Natural News has learned it all coincides with a well-timed for-profit corporate P.R. campaign that has been planned for months and just happens to coincide with the upcoming U.S. Supreme Court decision on the viability of the BRCA1 patent.'

The Sitting Sickness: Is It Silently Killing You?

The Sitting Sickness: Is It Silently Killing You?

The Sitting Sickness

'If you've heard that life is movement, it's true. If you've heard that just sitting around can kill you, it's also true. Physical inactivity is the fourth leading cause of death worldwide![1] You may have heard the media reporting recently on several studies showing that prolonged sitting significantly increases the risk for death, including death from heart disease and cancer, but I'm not sure this news has really hit home yet[2],[3],[4].

Most people know that exercise is critical for health and preventing disease, but the issue of physical activity and inactivity is much bigger than exercise. Regardless of the amount of exercise one performs, the level of aerobic fitness one exhibits, or whether a person is thin or overweight, stillness still kills[5].'

'Just like its oil, coconut water has many health benefits including electrolyte replenishment and weight loss. This 'nut' is packed with anti-aging properties and has the right number of calories to keep you going.

The water inside green coconuts is a hydrating super liquid. One cup of has around ten times less calories compared to that of coconut milk. It has fewer calories, less sodium, and more potassium than a sports drink. Ounce per ounce, most unflavored coconut water contains 5.45 calories, 1.3 grams sugar, 61 milligrams (mg) of potassium, and 5.45 mg of sodium compared to Gatorade, which has 6.25 calories, 1.75 grams of sugar, 3.75 mg of potassium, and 13.75 mg of sodium.'

Hey Dr. Ben:

'To follow up, I am ecstatic to report that everything, and I mean EVERYTHING has gotten better since we last spoke.

I have been religious about not snacking after dinner. You know that I was skeptical that this alone could fix my belly, but I stand humbled.

I have lost 28 pounds and counting, but what stands out is how comfortable I feel inside. Gone is the bloating and no more stomach pain. I wake up feeling better rested, just like you said I would.
You called it profound simplicity and I can't agree more. I'm not reaching when I say that you've changed my life for the better.

You have full permission to share this in your newsletter. Call me a believer!

Asparagus Provides the Health Benefits of Broccoli

The Western Diet As A Lethal, Pandemic Cause of Disease

The Western Diet As A Lethal, Pandemic Cause of Disease

'Emerging research indicates that the Western diet could rightly be considered a 'Disease Vector' on par with influenza and other infectious diseases.

The CDC likes to track disease vectors like influenza and hepatitis, but the concept that immune status determines susceptibility, or the vital role that diet or environmental factors such as sunlight-mediated vitamin D levels play in whether you contract an illness or not, is mostly ignored by them.'

'Let me begin by clarifying once more that I am not opposed to the reduction of many carbohydrates in the diet. This is a good thing, and I have always said so -- even before Dr. Atkins promoted the concept.

As I mentioned last issue, when the establishment pushed people away from fats towards carbs, obesity soared. The promotion of carbohydrates as the base level in the food pyramid has been a dietary disaster.

(And yes, it's not just refined grains and sugars. Even some unrefined grains can present problems.) So once again, my issue is not with the concept, but with the craziness that has now latched onto the concept, including:

The lack of balance that is frequently seen either in the diet itself, or in its implementation.'

Indeed, studies have identified a reduced prevalence of obesity in the pot smoking community.'

'We live in the Age of Aluminum, a time that brings great convenience, but at the expense of enormous health damage. A likely case in point is the massive upsurge in breast cancer and fibrocystic disease, a condition of cyst formation in the breasts. Aluminum of the periodic table is the most likely cause of both these conditions.

Keele Conference participant Philippa Darbre has dedicated herself to researching this epidemic. She states:

Mortality results from breast tumour growth at metastatic sites rather than in the breast itself.
That is, breast tumors don’t kill, but their metastases do.'

'Pharmacist Stuart Lindsey Comes Clean

Stuart Lindsey is a pharmacist with a few observations about diabetic drug treatment written in a May 2012 article. (1A ) For many years, Stuart managed a neighborhood pharmacy observing his diabetic customers faithfully taking diabetic medications, yet they had little improvement in health: Here is a quote from his article:

"After prolonged consumption of their diabetic medications, their health did not improve. This was disturbing to me (1A)"

When Stuart Lindsey himself developed diabetes, presenting as painful neuropathy in his feet, he began researching diabetes, in a self-interested attempt to understand and cure his symptoms. While researching, Stuart discovered a 2005 paper by Dr. Thornalley detailing how many of the symptoms of diabetes are due to thiamine deficiency (Vitamin B1).(7)'

'Xenoestrogens mimic the effects of true estrogen and interact with cellular receptor sites. This process contributes to estrogen excess and blocks the effects of true estrogen. To make matters worse, these endocrine disruptors lodge in fat cells where they are resistant to breakdown. Many of these chemicals will act in a synergistic effect when combined with other endocrine disrupters. This synergistic process exponentially enhances their effects within the body causing major problems at the cellular level.'

Hemp Could Free Us From Oil, Prevent Deforestation, Cure Cancer and It's Environmentally Friendly - So Why Is It Illegal?

'Hemp is a tall, beautiful and gracious looking annual plant that can reach heights over twelve feet. Although hemp (cannabis sativa) and marijuana (cannabis sativa var. indica) come from a similar species of plant, they are very different and confusion has been caused by deliberate misinformation with far reaching effects on socioeconomics as well as on environmental matters.

The reason hemp is illegal is not because of any negative impact to the environment or human health, but exactly the opposite. It is so environmentally friendly, nutritionally and medicinally beneficial, that it provides too many abundant resources which would make it impossible for powerful corporations to compete.'

The Health Benefits of Mushroom Consumption

'Mushrooms contain some of the most potent natural medicines on the planet. Of the 140,000 species of mushroom-forming fungi, science is familiar with only 10 percent, according to world-renown mycologist Paul Stamets, who has written six books on the topic.
About 100 species of mushrooms are being studied for their health-promoting benefits. Of those hundred, about a half dozen really stand out for their ability to deliver a tremendous boost to your immune system.

It's important to eat only organically grown mushrooms because they absorb and concentrate whatever they grow in — good OR bad. This is what gives mushrooms their potency. Mushrooms are known to concentrate heavy metals, as well as air and water pollutants, so healthy growing conditions is a critical factor.'

But what constitutes distraction? Does the mere possibility that a phone call or e-mail will soon arrive drain your brain power? And does distraction matter - do interruptions make us dumber? Quite a bit, according to new research by Carnegie Mellon University's Human-Computer Interaction Lab.'

Why I NEVER Use Agave

According to Russ Bianchi, executive of a globally recognized food and beverage development company, who lectured about this very subject at the Weston Price Mythbusters conference this past fall, agave is one of the greatest frauds perpetrated on the American people.

The high levels of synthesized fructose in agave put people at risk for obesity, heart disease, arterial inflammation, high blood pressure and increased insulin resistance.'

NAC Provides Maximum Antioxidant Power to Slow Aging

'N-acetylcysteine  (NAC)  is one of the best supplements anyone entering middle age can take.  Never heard of it?  That’s probably because pharmaceutical companies don’t want you to know about it, since they benefit from selling high priced patent medicines based on NAC.  But awareness of NAC is growing, and inexpensive supplements of it are available in health stores and online.

NAC is derived from L-cysteine, a sulfur containing amino acid.  Cysteine is produced in the body and is also found in food.  The food version is known as cystine, which is actually two cysteine joined together.  Food sources include poultry, yogurt, egg yolks, red peppers, garlic, onions, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, oats and wheat germ.'

The Most Important Thing I Learned From My Mother

And through cooking, touching, feeling, preparing, and savoring good, real food made from real ingredients, I get to inhabit fully my home and my kitchen; to heal my body; and to connect with friends, family, the Earth, and the larger community in which I live.

Cooking, I have come to see, is a truly transformational act. The closer we can get to the food we eat, the shorter the link between field and fork, the better off we will all be. We have outsourced our cooking to the industrial food system. By taking back our kitchens—which we can do simply, easily, and inexpensively—we can create a tidal shift in our food system.'

To help support her newly modified diet, I showed her some tricks of the healthy eating trade. To satisfy those regular urges for vanilla icing that, in the past, would sometimes have her eating straight out of a Duncan Hines frosting jar, I brought out the cashews.'
