Dangerous Gardasil Vaccine Could Become Mandatory

'Despite the hundreds of reports of the drug’s injurious effects, the drug’s manufacturer, Merck, is waiting for FDA approval to make the vaccination a mandatory one for boys, too, as a preventative for a form of anal cancer. And the company still cannot point to a single test that proves either the link between HPV and cervical cancer, nor one that proves Gardasil will prevent cancer, according to Cynthia Janek, reporting on her study of the issue in Renew America.'

The Dangers Of Cooking With Non-Stick Pans

http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/english/doc/2004-10/14/xin_10100114090958519481.jpg

by Sarah Cain

'People have a tendency to forsake security and safety for convenience. This is often seen in regards to computing, health, and diet. There are consequences to complacency, and many of us have never taken time to consider these consequences. Most people would prefer to "pop a pill" when they have already become severely ill than to take sensible preventative measures such as maintaining a good diet.

Likewise, the public overwhelmingly prefers the convenience of non-stick cooking pans. These pans are indeed convenient, but they are far from safe. Before I began studying alternative medicine, I had no idea of the dangers of PFOA (the chemical coating on non-stick pans).'

Top Ten Most Nutritious Vegetables and How to Grow Them in Your Garden

 http://www.lifeunplugged.net/images/gp-small-vegetable-garden.JPG

'A perfectly ripe, juicy tomato, still warm from the sun. Sweet carrots, pulled from the garden minutes (or even seconds!) before they're eaten. Growing your own vegetables is one of those activities that balances practicality and indulgence.

In addition to the convenience of having the fixings for a salad or light supper right outside your door (or on your windowsill), when you grow your own vegetables, you're getting the most nutritional bang for your buck as well.

Vegetables start losing nutrients as soon as they're harvested, and quality diminishes as sugars are turned into starches. For the tastiest veggies with the best nutrition, try growing a few of these nutrient-dense foods in your own garden. And don't let the lack of a yard stop you - all of them can be grown in containers as well.'

4 Best Methods for Off-the-Grid Food Production

'For most of us producing all of our own food is just a fantasy. It evokes visions of multiple acres of fertile land, long work days, and expensive machinery. However, none of these are necessary to achieve self-sufficient food production.

There are many gardening techniques that can produce an abundance of food for you and your family without requiring a lot of space, money or equipment. What each of these methods will require is your time, but not the dawn-to-dusk work hours associated with farming.

Rather, you will need time to study and practice these methods and other food preparation skills such as learning to mill your own wheat or corn flour to make breads, tortillas, pastas from scratch, or learning to can, pickle, or preserve food in all its forms.'

The Great Extra Virgin Olive Oil Hoax

 http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_OOlW-1cKA6k/TEogn9pNlWI/AAAAAAAADNk/lTmju6FXW1A/s1600/olive.jpg

'Scientists at UC Davis went shopping at local supermarkets and brought back 14 of the country’s most popular imported brands to their labs for analysis. Incredibly, they found that 69% of the imported extra virgin olive oils they tested were fake, adulterated, stale, or so subpar that they failed to meet international and USDA standards for being labeled “extra virgin.” For years, articles in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, the New Yorker magazine, and other publications have repeatedly warned about adulterated olive oils being shipped to America. A National Public Radio report called olive oil fraud “rampant.” '

What Else Lowers Stress Hormones, Increases Immune Activity, and Lowers Cholesterol?

http://static.howstuffworks.com/gif/laughter-new.jpg

'Most of us think that the only way to lower stress, cholesterol and blood pressure is diet and a great exercise program. You won't believe what else has the same effect.

Results of the study, from Loma Linda University's Schools of Allied Health (SAHP) and Medicine, showed that laughing not only enhances a positive mood, but lowers stress hormones, increases immune activity, and lowers cholesterol and blood pressure, similar to moderate exercise.'

Magnesium Can Reduce Your Risk of Sudden Death

 http://photos.demandstudios.com/getty/article/81/164/84749305_XS.jpg

by Dr. Merocola

'New research examined the association between magnesium, which has antiarrhythmic properties, and your risk of sudden cardiac death (SCD). The study looked at more than 88,000 women, who were followed for 26 years. The results showed that the relative risk of sudden cardiac death was significantly lower in women in the highest quartile of dietary magnesium consumption. In fact, women with the highest blood levels of magnesium had a 41 percent lower risk of sudden cardiac death.'

'We now have a generation of children who suffer from chronic health conditions that were almost unknown in childhood a generation ago: cancer, autism, asthma, allergies, diabetes, obesity, and now rickets.'

'As a direct result of misinformation pushed by modern medicine, an epidemic of deforming rickets is now epidemic in the UK. The scourge that was should be gone has returned, and with a vengeance. As many as 40 percent of all children in the UK may be suffering from the disease.'

9 Steps to Perfect Health – #2: Nourish Your Body

 http://www.culinate.com/hunk/130783

'In step #1, we talked about what not to eat. In this article, we’ll talk about what to eat.

Most of the calories we get from food come from protein, carbohydrates and fat. These are referred to as macronutrients. We also get other important nutrients from food, such as vitamins and minerals. These don’t constitute a significant source of calories, so they’re called micronutrients.

For the last 50 years we’ve been told to follow a diet low in this or that macronutrient. From the 1950s up until the present day the American Heart Association and other similarly misguided and pharmaceutically-financed “consumer organizations” have advocated a low-fat diet. More recently, low-carbohydrate diets are all the rage.'

Raw milk farmer Michael Schmidt and the right to “eat what we want”

'Michael Schmidt’s grandfather was part of the Agriculture course with Rudolf Steiner in 1924, his family fled their ancestral biodynamic farm in Germany in the middle of the night from occupying Russian troops at the end of World War II, and he has fought tirelessly for the rights of farmers and consumers in Ontario for the better part of a generation.

In November 2006, Michael Schmidt’s farm in Durham, two hours north of Toronto, was raided by over 20 armed officers. They weren’t looking for drugs or guns.'

Why Sleeping in Darkness is Important to Your Health

 http://www.nndb.com/films/669/000032573/the-big-sleep-1-sized.jpg

'Researchers found that sleeping for several hours in nighttime darkness promotes a healthy blood level of a hormone called melatonin, which can significantly suppress the growth and proliferation of breast tumours.

They also found that sleeping while exposed to light at night causes a dramatic drop in blood melatonin levels, setting the stage for growth and proliferation of breast cancer cells.

This study provides evidence that may partly explain why breast cancer is five times more common in industrialized nations compared to less developed countries. It may also explain why visually challenged people have lower rates of cancer than people who have no problems with vision.'

Dangers Of Gardasil & Obamacare Mandatory Vaccines

http://weblogs.baltimoresun.com/health/gardasil.jpg

'Gardasil is the vaccine promoted as protection against various types of cervical cancer supposedly caused by the HPV virus, and obviously is intended for other purposes. Even with the number of deaths and injury from the vaccine the ads ran non-stop on TV while state and federal governments tried to find ever newer and more invasive ways of making mandatory vaccination a reality. They got their wish; Obamacare calls for mandatory vaccination and proof of updates to vaccinations in order to get any healthcare.'

Why Plants Are (Usually) Better Than Drugs

http://www.tanithherbs.co.uk/images/index.jpg

by Dr. Andrew Weil

'For four decades, I've been skeptical of a prevailing belief in Western medicine: when a plant shows bioactivity in humans, we must attribute that effect to a single, predominant compound in the plant. We label that the "active principle," isolate it, synthesize it, and make a pharmaceutical out of it. Then, typically, we forget about the plant. We don't study any of the other compounds in it or their complex interactions.'

Monsanto Nation: Exposing Monsanto's Minions

'My expose last week, "The Organic Elite Surrenders to Monsanto: What Now?"  has ignited a long-overdue debate on how to stop Monsanto's earth killing, market-monopolizing, climate-destabilizing rampage. Should we basically resign ourselves to the fact that the Biotech Bully of St. Louis controls the dynamics of the marketplace and public policy? Should we seek some kind of practical compromise or "coexistence" between organics and Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs)?

Should we focus our efforts on crop pollution compensation and "controlled deregulation" of genetically engineered (GE) crops, rather than campaign for an outright ban, or mandatory labeling and safety-testing? Should we prepare ourselves for a future farm landscape where the U.S.'s 23 million acres of alfalfa, the nation's fourth largest crop, (93% of which are currently not sprayed with toxic herbicides), including organic alfalfa, are sprayed with Roundup and/or genetically polluted with Monsanto's mutant genes?

Or should we stand up and say Hell No to Monsanto and the Obama Administration? Should we stop all the talk about coexistence between organics and GMOs; unite
Millions Against Monsanto,  mobilize like never before at the grassroots; put enormous pressure on the nation's grocers to truthfully label the thousands of so-called conventional or "natural" foods containing or produced with GMOs; and then slowly but surely drive GMOs from the market?'

Stepping Into the Fire: Healing Properties of Ayahuasca

Rob Velez
Reality Sandwich

'This RS video is the trailer for Stepping Into the Fire, a cinematic release that reaches into the ash of the bare bones of existence and asks the question “is humanity born to die, or is humanity born to live?”

The film follows the true story of three successful individuals brought together by an ancestral medicine from South America that has become legendary for its miraculous and profound effects. Ayahuasca – as the Amazonian brew is known – is well known for its mental, physical and energetic healing properties. Stepping Into the Fire closely examines the life-changing effects Ayahuasca can have and illustrates why environment and health are so crucial to human success on a global scale.'

'In 1976, a doctor at a small research institute in Menlo Park, California, a tree-lined town outside of San Francisco, did something no one had ever done before. He took 100 untreatable, terminally ill cancer patients… and he fed them. He fed them 10 grams of a simple, plentiful nutrient each day. And they lived.'

Vaccine Epidemic

Vaccine Epidemic Book

'Almost on a daily basis, thousands are waking up and rejecting drug-based, vaccine-laden medicine. Pharma may think their industry is “too big to fail” but if its prize widget, vaccination, is refused by most, the industry is likely to crash to the ground with a massive dinosaur-like thud. It’s hard to maintain a $500billion/year industry if most of the population is vaccine-free and healthy. Below are a few excerpts from my chapter in the book, Vaccine Epidemic. For the full story, go here to get your copy.

"Discussions about the right to refuse vaccination can become contentious, even hostile. Those who firmly believe that vaccines are safe, protective and mostly harmless stand a chasm apart from those who have a different experience with vaccination, including serious injury, chronic illness and even death. The debate has intensified, and so have the stakes. As more parents investigate and weigh the risks and benefits of vaccines, many have opted out. These parents have decided to take personal responsibility for the health of their children, refusing to accept that health can come through a needle. Every vaccination has potential side effects and many feel that the risk of the vaccine is unacceptably larger than the risk of the illness." '

Taco Bell Sells Fake Meat. So What? Everybody’s Doing It

'Food companies are like greedy cocaine dealers – cutting food with cheaper ingredients to increase profits. This is nothing new, and it’s not just happening with meat. But first, about that beef with Taco Bell’s “beef.” Vegetable proteins are cheaper than meat and that’s why they are used as extenders by companies like Taco Bell. Texturized Soy Protein is one of the most commonly used extenders. Why is it so cheap? Texturized soy protein is actually a by-product of soy oil, so the food industry gets to double dip while taking advantage of the massive government subsidies bestowed upon the soy industry. Let’s take a look at the other duplicitous tactics the food companies employ in their ingredients.'
